
Before joining the Department of Real Estate Services (DRES) in 2007, Camille Sabbakhan served 8 years as an Assistant City Attorney in Richmond, Virginia and 2 years as Assistant to the City Manager in Richmond, Virginia. As a local government attorney, Camille has represented various city departments, as well as the Chief Administrative Officer, Mayor, and City Council in the daily operations of local government. Camille’s practice areas and assignments have included serving as general counsel for the Richmond Economic Development Authority, handling the acquisition and sale of real estate, conducting tax foreclosures and sales of tax delinquent real estate, reviewing and drafting economic development and real estate agreements and drafting local ordinances and state legislation.
Camille was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Richmond Riverfront Corporation and was the Real Estate Development Chair for Neighborhood Housing Services of Richmond, a non-profit housing provider in Richmond, Virginia. Camille is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Virginia State Bar.
Camille graduated from the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University, earning both a Juris Doctor and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia.
